I just want to hang with you, redux

Recently I wrote about a situation with M who wasn't interested in me (romantically or sexually) and was surprised with the reaction amongst those online as well as my in-person friends.

The overall sentiment was I was too harsh.  I was being passive aggressive with my lack of response.  I should've given M a chance.  Bullshit.  I decided to end something that didn't have any future potential from the other person's point of view.

What's interesting with this situation is if it was turned around, the answer would inevitably be the same as mine.

Would you spend time with someone who clearly stated they weren't interested in you?  If the answer is yes, then you're either A) lying to save face and make yourself look better than the cold-hearted bastard that I am, B) either desperate for companionship or, C) suffer from low self esteem.

Since I don't suffer from B or C, I decided it was best to stick to A since it's the best way to retain a sense of self-worth because I put a value on my time, energy and willingness to be a part of someone's life... when they want to be a part of mine.

I am sorting out my contacts since between iCloud and Google they were getting really screwed up. I'd say you picked the right one. I was to shy to make any moves on you when we went to the movie way back when. Everybody thinks I'm outgoing but I'm not really.

But it sounds like you are doing well!
