The eyes have it
It's true what they say: the eyes are the windows to the soul. Look closely, and you know everything that’s lies beyond the façade. The eyes can tell a lot about someone, even though they don’t realize it.
Mine are an almond shape that turns up slightly towards the ends. They are surrounded by a series of long, dark lashes. The colour - a chocolate brown - exudes warmth.
There’s something happy, laughing, smirky and snarky about them, with a touch of magic that is sprinkled in minute doses. The colour and shape also exemplify a desire and ambition to go after what I want.
Yet, there’s also coldness; a sharpness and harshness around the sides that can’t be hidden. This comes from years of life, living it the way that anyone does in today’s world.
Towards the centre lays sadness, and an opportunity for a tear to build. The disappointment and bitterness is apparent, no matter how much I try to smile my way out of a situation.
Those are the reasons why I don’t like people to look too closely. I don’t want them to know what really is going on inside.

brown eyes are the best. The show so mucg more of a person's soul and character than any other colour.
They look a little sad and perhaps a touch jaded in that photo, but I bet when they sparkle, they blind people!
There is a piercing quality to your eyes, looking deep into our souls, summoning us to truth.
First of all you have nice eyes. I agree eyes are the window to the soul. They can't hide too much of anything. Which is why sometimes we can't look at people because we are afraid to give too much away from just a simple glance.
Well, they're pretty regardless of what they hide.
Insightful post, Steven. Maybe said before but oh so true. Of course, what someone mentioned above about brown eyes being more revealing might be true. My eyes are pretty much a solid blue with tinges of green and I've been told I'm cold. I wonder if it's because my eyes are good at giving so little away.

I love brown coloured eyes..Mine are green/blue so it only makes sense that I like what I cant have naturally...As for what they say about me..Hmmm I'm guessing...Sex starved & horny in need of good 'shag'...:P
