I don't really know who you are, I've only followed your blog for a little while, and I'm certainly in no position to make judgments on people.
That said, whoever this guy was, he was a complete arse. You can do so much better than him. Anyone who leaves you when your down doesn't know what it's like and can never truly connect with you.
I know that, out there somewhere, there will be a guy who can understand you, comfort you when you're down, and support you to bring you back up. I know this, because I found one myself.
