Fourty years
Fourty years of love.
Fourty years of war.
Fourty years of arguments.
Fourty years of making up.
Fourty years of yelling.
Fourty years of silence.
Fourty years of breaking.
Fourty years of mending.
Fourty years of distance.
Fourty years of hugging.
Fourty years of cooking.
Fourty years of pooping.
Fourty years of pain.
Fourty years of pills.
Fourty years of laughing.
Fourty years of crying.
Fourty years of family.
Fourty years of marriage.
Why my parents haven’t divorced yet is beyond me.

And Forty years of misspelling!
Sorry, that was uncalled for! (it's just you North American types normally show a huge aversion to the letter "u" with your colors and flavors rather than colours and flavours!) ;)
It's a great poem. 40 years is entirely unimaginable for me - but good on them, they must be doing something right!
The wonders of love is that you take all the good and the bad. However at the end of the day if you still look at the person and still feel peace in your heart. Well I will take the 40 years.
I assure you that your parents made a pact... the first to leave the other would be the one who got the kids. That is why they are still together. It's your fault!
its definitely our fault.
Please! It's certainly not because you weren't a total doll as a child....well behaved, demure, minded mommy well and all of that. My parents only made it to 33 years together before my father died.....I know they'd still be happily together had that not happened. On the other hand, my partner's parents are at 59 years and unhappy as hell.
hey, who is to say why people do the things they do? best not to investigate it too closely or the magic will fall apart!
Because divorce is expensive. It's cheaper to stay married and pretend you're just roommates.
My folks celebrate 46 years next summer. Its unbelievable to me.
Wow! Congrats to them!
That's a long ass time.
I feel very identify with fourty years! I think this is a very nice poem that summarizes many emotions we have experienced during our lifetime.
Great poem thanks for share.
